Starting the Manager

Log in to your admin panel and go to "Manage Collections/Categories" then click on "Manage Collection/Category Headers".

In your "Manage Collections/Categories" area, click "Manage Collection/Category Headers". Under "Choose which Collection Header area to edit:" select either Collections or Categories. Currently the Collection/Category Headers Manager does not work with Internet Explorer, please use Chrome, Safari, or Firefox instead.

Choosing Open/Close Behavior

There are three open/close types:

  • Disabled: (default) All headers will load open. If selected, this settings overrides the "Check to load header open on page load" settings for individual headers.
  • MouseOver: Headers will open or close when a user mouses over its name.
  • Click: Headers will open or close when a user clicks its name.

Creating a New Header

In the "Create New Collection Header" area, type the name of the new header and click "Create Collection Header". Note: You can only create one new header at a time. An item must be added to the new header before another one can be created.

Sorting Entire Header Groups / Group Sorting Mode

Drag on the "Drag Here" area of the header group to change the order of the headers. To make this easier, "Set Group Sorting Mode:" to "On".

Sorting Collections/Categories Within Header(s)

Drag items up or down. You can drag items into other header groups as well. The "Default" header group holds items which have not yet been sorted into other headers. The word "Default" will not appear on your web site. If left unsorted, these items will always appear below the header groups you've created, regardless of where you place the "Default" header group within the header group order.

Editing Attributes

You can choose to make individual collections/categories bold and/or underlined. You can also choose to underline header group titles. Header group titles are automatically always in bold to ensure readability to the user. You can specify a color for header groups as well. Simply enter a vaild HTML color name or HEX code in the "Color:" box. Some common values are Red:FF0000, Blue:0000FF, Gold:996600. DO NOT enter a "#" symbol if you are using hex codes. These will not work and will break some features of the Collection/Category Manager.

Deleting a Header

You can delete a header by first removing any collecitons that are listed under that header, either by deleting the collection name in Manage Collections/Categories or moving the collection name to another collection header. Then blank out the Collection Header name text and any color code you may have added. Be sure there are no blank spaces in either of these fields.

Submitting

When you are done sorting, scroll to the bottom of the window and press "Submit".
