Sorting Options for Collections or Categories
On the Manage Collection/Category Details page under the drop down for "Choose the order you would like products in this Collection/Category to display" there are several sorting options which are detailed below. Specifying the sort on this page will cause the page to load on your front end web site with the selected sort when "Top Picks" is selected on the front end web site.
Default Sort / Top Picks
This sort is the recommended sort and always pushes the styles that are the most available to sell to the top of the thumbnails page for the collection or category. This is the sort used by default when "Top Picks" is selected on your front end web site. The sorting criteria are:
- Your custom sort which can be specified in Page Manager.
- Your store stock, from styles that have the most quantity on hand to the least (assuming you are syncing a POS system with eStyleCentral or manually adding quantity on hand in the inventory grid)
- The release date of the collection the style belongs to. A carryover style gets the release date of the most current collection it belongs to.
- Vendor warehouse and work in progress stock from most quantity to least
- The order of the collection on the vendors web site, usually ordered by style number from least to greatest
Deprioritized Special Order Styles
- Your custom sort which can be specified in Page Manager.
- Whether or not there is any store or vendor stock
- Original release date of the style. Usually this is the season the style was released in, but its possible newer styles are added within the same season. The newest styles are sorted first assuming they meet the other criteria. A carryover style would be sorted with the season it was originally released in.

Vendor Supplied Sort
Usually by style number, with inventory priority disabled. This sort can be useful in November/December when vendors have released their new collection styles but have don't yet have any of them in stock. Inventory priority is disabled to the newest released styles. Careful consideration should be given when using this because when January approaches the styles will still be shown in style number order, even if those first lowest numbered styles of the season have no stock, potentially decreasing sales conversion on your web site.
